JAMMU, May 7: Amidst the ongoing border tensions following Operation Sindoor, many organisations here today organised blood donation camps.
Co-Founder of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation, Ritu Singh here today organised a blood donation camp at Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital Jammu. On the instructions of Ritu Singh, a dedicated team of blood donors, led by Vikas, Manager Hotel Hari Niwas, Jammu, participated actively in the camp and donated blood to support the hospital’s emergency preparedness in view of any unforeseen situation. Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal GMC Jammu; Dr. Meena Sidhu, HoD Blood Bank GMC Jammu and Dr. Aneesh Uppal, Specialist Paediatrician, appreciated the efforts of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation for supporting the noble cause.
Meanwhile, Yudhvir Sethi, MLA, inaugurated a blood donation camp at Geeta Bhawan, Parade in response to the present security situation following Operation Sindoor. The camp was organized to bolster emergency preparedness in the light of heightened border tensions and to support the medical infrastructure in Jammu. A large number of BJP workers and volunteers participated in the drive, showing solidarity with the nation. Addressing the gathering, Sethi said: “This is a time when every citizen must rise to support the nation and stand firmly with the Government.”
To address the critical blood shortage for emergency and Thalassemia patients, the Indian Society for Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology (ISBTI) J&K & Rotary Club Jammu Bahu supported by NGO SUPPORT organised a lifesaving voluntary blood donation camp at SMGS Hospital Jammu under the leadership of Dr. Navneet Kaur, secretary general of ISBTI J&K and noted social reformer. The camp saw enthusiastic participation, with donors including Dr. Navneet Kaur, Manish Sahni, Simpi, Gurneet, Sahil, Gita and many others. Dr. Vijay Shawney (Associate Professor) and Dr. Naveen along with SMGS Hospital Blood Bank team, praised the initiative. Manish Sahni highlighted the role of communal harmony and youth in healthcare crises.
