JAMMU, Apr 12: Many educational institutions here today celebrated the festivals of Ram Navmi, Baisakhi and birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
Modern Montessori International (MMI) Pre-School Jammu celebrated Baisakhi with traditional fervour and gaiety. The entire School wore the festive look. The function started with a speech by Principal of the School, Pragya Gupta wherein she highlighted importance of the festival. The event was followed by the cultural programme in which the children danced at the tunes of Dhol beats. The children were dressed-up in Punjabi attires. The main attraction of the event was ‘Dholia’ on whose Dhol beats children danced whole heartedly with great enthusiasm. Compeering of the function was done by the Class Directress, Shilpa Deol. Directors of the School, Mrs. Bhavna Rohmetra and Mrs. Sapna Rohmetra congratulated the whole team of MMI for making the event successful.
Delhi Public School, Jammu organized special assembly to celebrate Baisakhi and birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar. The students were acquainted about the significance of the day including life, achievements and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar. Mesmerizing Bhangra performance, Giddas and Tappas were also presented by the students.
Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib organized a function to jointly celebrate Baisakhi and Ram Navami festivals. The programme commenced with Kanya Pujan followed by a dance performance and skit on significance of Baisakhi.
Minerva Public School, Kathua celebrated Baisakhi festival with great zeal and enthusiasm. Pre-Primary wing of Minerva Public School Kathua also celebrated Yellow Day today. The students were made aware about significance of Baisakhi and were told that Baisakhi is a festival of harvest, love, joy and excitement.
Dewan Devi Playway/Hr. Sec. School Rajpura celebrated Baisakhi Festival with great pomp and show.
Kidzee, pre-school celebrated Ram Navmi, Birthday of Dr. B.R Ambedkar and Baisakhi at its branches in Talab Tillo, Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat with great enthusiasm.
Mount Litera Zee School Anand Nagar, Bohri and its Junior Wing Kidzee celebrated Ram Navmi, Birthday of Dr. B.R Ambedkar and Baisakhi. On this occasion, Chairman of the School Parneesh Mahajan made the students aware about Baisakhi and he also threw light on the life of Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
Sunrise Public School celebrated Baisakhi through a special assembly wherein the little children were dressed in attire representing Punjabi culture.
Jammu Sanskriti School celebrated Baisakhi and B.R Ambedkar Jayanti and devotional songs on Goddess Durga were also recited to mark Durga Asthmi. The highlight of the programme was Bhangra.
APS Kaluchak celebrated Baisakhi with great fervor and festivity. Dressed in typical folk attire and ornaments, the students danced to the Bhangra tunes which left the audience spellbound.
Doon International School celebrated Baisakhi and Ramnavmi wherein festivities began with the recital of ‘Shabad Kirtan’ followed by speeches and poems explaining the significance of the day. Gatka was also performed by the students.
The festival of Baisakhi was celebrated at Guru Harkrishan Public School with religious function in the Gurudwara Sahib where Shabad Kirtan was recited. Karrah Parsad was distributed among the students. Students of nursery wing visited Digiana Ashram.
International Daily Rising School Chowadi celebrated the festival of Baisakhi and the students were dressed in ethnic attire representing Punjabi culture.
A congratulatory message on the occasion was given by the School Chairperson, Supinder Kaur and Director Academics, Dr. Atul Hans.
MV International School celebrated Baisakhi festival with enthusiasm. The kindergarten wing of the school was decorated depicting the harvest season. Children dressed in colourful Punjabi traditional attires relished Baisakhi special dishes to mark the festivity.
Students and staff of Delhi Public School, Udhampur celebrated Baisakhi with fervor and zeal. On this occasion the students were made aware about Jallian Wala Bagh Massacre that took place on April 13, 1919 and a one minute silence was observed in the memory of the martyrs.
Stepping Stone School Shastri Nagar celebrated Baisakhi with full enthusiasm. A colourful cultural programme was organized by the students attired in yellow dresses. The beats of ‘dhol’ charged the atmosphere.
Kids Campus International Pre-School, Channi Himmat celebrated Baisakhi festival with fervour. A special assembly was organized wherein students were educated about importance of the festival. After this a special quiz was also organized.
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School, Udhampur organised a programme to celebrate Baisakhi and B.R Ambedkar Jayanti. The programmes like debates, painting competition, recitation of poems, song, dance and fancy dress competition were held to mark the occasion.
