Man’s body found hanging

RAJOURI, May 26: The dead body of a 55-year-old man was found hanging from a tree on Monday morning in Rehan area, falling under the jurisdiction of Kotranka Police Station in Rajouri district.
According to official sources, residents of Mohra locality in Rehan informed police early in the morning after they found a man’s body hanging from a tree. A police team immediately reached the spot and took the body into its custody. The deceased was identified as Maqbool Hussain, son of Hussain Ahmed, a resident of Rehan.
The body was subsequently shifted to the Government Hospital in Kotranka, where a post–mortem examination was conducted. After completing all legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members.
Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings under suspicious circumstances. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause and nature of the death.
Initial reports suggest that Maqbool Hussain had been working abroad for the last 30 years and used to visit home occasionally. He had returned to his native village only recently.
