KATHUA, Sept 9: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today visited flood-affected areas in Satheri, Themnel, Raid, and Kanta of Baggan Tehsil in Billawar additional district, of Kathua.
Accompanied by Devi Raj, Subash Singh Billoria, and former Sarpanch Nanak Chand Sharma, Dr Manohar assessed the damage caused by the recent floods. The floods have resulted in significant damage to land, houses, crops, and properties in the affected areas. Dr Manohar emphasized the need for immediate compensation and comprehensive rehabilitation for the affected families.
Dr Manohar demanded that the Government provide adequate compensation to the affected families for the loss of their homes, livelihoods, and property. He also stressed the importance of complete rehabilitation to help the families rebuild their lives.
Sharma urged the Government to take immediate action to provide relief to the affected populations and to work towards preventing such disasters in the future. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address the challenges posed by natural disasters like floods.
Manohar’s visit demonstrates his commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and his determination to raise their concerns at the highest levels.
