KATHUA, Nov 14: Former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today criticized the BJP Government for its failure to address pressing issues affecting the people of his constituency and the region.
In a scathing critique, during public meetings at Mandli and Galak today, Sharma highlighted the government’s shortcomings in providing employment opportunities to educated youth, despite being in power for over a decade. He also expressed concern over the plight of daily rated workers, adhoc employees, and casual laborers, who continue to wait for regularization.
Sharma demanded that the government should take concrete steps to provide relief to flood-affected people, control the rising prices of essential commodities, and combat the menace of drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The BJP Government has failed to deliver on its promises, and the people of Billawar are paying the price. It is time for the government to take responsibility and work towards the welfare of the people, rather than pursuing politics as usual,” he said.
Former minister claimed that despite being in power for over a decade, the BJP government has failed to address the pressing issues affecting the region, including unemployment, regularization of daily rated workers, and relief for flood-affected people. The people’s frustration and discontent are palpable, and it’s clear that the BJP government has lost touch with the ground reality, Manohar said.
The government’s inability to control drug abuse, price rise, and provide employment opportunities has created a sense of despair among the youth. The people of J&K are looking for change, and it’s time for the government to take notice. It’s time for BJP to introspect and course-correct before it’s too late, he cautioned.
