Manohar lays foundation stone of model village

KATHUA, June 14: Reiterating Government’s commitment to strengthen the rural infrastructure to ease out the miseries from the life of common masses, Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that the concept of model village was a key step towards creating and dedicating provisions of better civic facilities in the rural areas.
He was speaking after  laying  foundation stone  of model village Dungara in Tehsil Billawar today.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said present Coalition Government has laid stress upon the strengthening of key sectors like roads, water and education for the overall prosperity of the rural areas. He said up gradation of schools, expanding of road connectivity, and provisions for safe drinking water were prioritized in these isolated areas to mitigate the problems of the ruralities.
The Minister added that Government has taken landmark decisions for the employees by raising the retirement age from 58 to 60 years. He said Government has initiated steps to give over 1 lakh jobs within next two years.
Dr Sharma said the model village Dungara will be completed with an estimated cost of 101.85 lakh. He said under model village concept a number of facilities will be provided in the village which includes Common Facility Centre, Lanes & Drains, Community Centre, Individual Household Latrines, Play Field, Anganwadi Centre and Rural Information Centre.
He assured that their projected  demands will be addressed on merit and priority.
Earlier Dr Manohar Lal Sharma inaugurated Additional Three Room Building of Government Middle School, Mandli of Bhaddu Zone, constructed to be an estimated cost of 7.45 lakh under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan.
