Manmohan led delegation arrives today

SRINAGAR, Sept 15: Congress’ Policy and Planning Group led by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is arriving here on two day visit tomorrow.
The group will meet various delegations from Kashmir valley including Opposition Parties at Hari Niwas, Srinagar.
The Group comprised former Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, former Union Minister Dr. Karan Singh, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ambika Soni, general Secretary AICC.
Apart from meeting various delegations, former Prime Minister will be addressing JKPCC Executive tomorrow noon and Congress Legislature Party meeting on Sunday morning, at Hari Niwas.
The group will meet 30 delegations during its two-day visit. On first day the delegations, which will meet the former PM include Civil Societies, KCS, SKCS, Anantnag-Kulgam, Srinagar and Budgam, STs and OBCs, Pahari, Shia Association, 2014 Flood Victims, mainstream Opposition parties of National Conference, CPIM, PDF, DPN, YFIEE, Youth Forum, KPs and PM Package Return Forum, Women, Saffron Growers and House Boat and Hotel Association, Panchayat Raj Forum, Journalists and former JKPCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz.
On Sunday before the delegation leaves for Delhi, they will be meeting with MLAs and MLCs, Chamber of Commerce, Bar Association, Fruit Growers, Shopian- Sopore, Baramulla and Kupwara, Bandipora and Ganderbal, Shopian and Pulwama, Intellectual Forum, Minorities (Sikhs, Christians), and ALCs, Border Migrants.
The group, formed following the continuation of fragile political and security situation in the Valley, aims to hold dialogue with all stakeholders and help for peace building in the State.
The group, according to the sources, was constituted after the senior leader Tariq Hameed Karra urged the party high command to take concrete steps regarding the resolution of Kashmir issue.
