UDHAMPUR, Jan 11: Senior BJP leader and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia organized an awareness program regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) at his office, aimed at educating people about the importance of maintaining a transparent and genuine voter list.
Addressing the gathering, Mankotia said that the decision taken by the Central Government is absolutely right, as there have been instances where people from outside the country come and get voter ID cards made here, which ultimately harms genuine and patriotic citizens. He emphasized that it is necessary to prevent such illegal voters from being included in the electoral rolls and to remove them from the voter list.
He further stated that parties opposing the voter list revision are deliberately misleading the public. Targeting Congress, National Conference, and other parties, Mankotia said that these parties are creating confusion among people for their own political interests.
“Congress and National Conference-like parties have always deceived the people. They have never worked in the interest of the public. On the other hand, BJP has always stood with the people and will continue to work for their welfare,” Mankotia said.
He appealed to the people not to fall prey to the misleading propaganda of such parties and to exercise their democratic rights responsibly. “BJP has always been with the people and will continue to work in their interest,” he added.
On the occasion, party workers also motivated people regarding the voter list revision and provided them with necessary information. The program witnessed the presence of Mandal Presidents, District Development Councillors, former Sarpanches, Panchs, and hundreds of party workers and local residents.
