JAMMU, Apr 8: MLA Chenani-Ghordi, Balwant Singh Mankotia, along with BJP district president Reasi and prominent hotelier Rohit Dubey, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss the overall development of Patnitop, one of the region’s most popular tourist destinations.
During the meeting, the delegation raised several key concerns pertaining to tourism infrastructure, including the need for upgradation of roads, improved transport connectivity, better parking facilities, and augmentation of basic amenities for visitors.
Emphasis was also laid on promoting Patnitop as a year-round destination by developing adventure tourism activities, enhancing winter sports facilities, and organizing cultural and tourism festivals to attract a larger footfall.
The representatives of the hospitality sector, including local hoteliers, highlighted challenges faced by them such as seasonal fluctuations in tourist inflow, limited promotional outreach, and the need for policy support to encourage investment in the sector.
They also suggested measures like digital promotion campaigns, improved waste management systems, and streamlined regulatory procedures to facilitate ease of doing business.

Omar further emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between the Government and stakeholders to unlock the full economic potential of the region and generate employment opportunities for local youth.
