UDHAMPUR, Dec 4: A significant push to the development landscape of the Chenani-Ghordi Assembly constituency was witnessed today as MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia formally inaugurated several major infrastructure projects in his constituency.
These initiatives aim to strengthen the region’s basic facilities, enhance road connectivity, and improve public convenience across multiple localities. MLA Mankotia reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that essential services reach every village in a timely and efficient manner.
Among the projects inaugurated today is the construction of a boundary wall at Chouka Nala (Kosar), undertaken at an estimated cost of ?15 lakh to improve safety and streamline public infrastructure. In Mantalai, a ?90 lakh tile work project was launched to enhance the aesthetic and functional appeal of this important religious and tourist destination.
The macadamization work on the Bupp Sarad road, costing ?1.50 crore, was also initiated, and is expected to significantly improve road quality and transportation ease for local residents. Additionally, the 9-km Serisu road project-estimated at ?15 crore-was officially started. Once completed, this road will connect several remote villages with main routes, improving access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
Furthermore, MLA Mankotia launched three development works on the Champaidi road, amounting to ?45 lakh. He emphasized that the development of Chenani-Ghordi remains his top priority, with a clear focus on strengthening infrastructure and improving citizens’ quality of life.
These newly inaugurated projects have generated optimism among the people, who believe that Chenani-Ghordi is steadily moving toward becoming a model of planned and sustainable development.
