CHENANI, Jan 31: MLA Chenani Balwant Singh Mankotia today held a public darbar at Samroli, giving residents a direct platform to raise their grievances.
Senior officers from various Government departments attended the programme.
During the darbar, people highlighted issues related to roads, electricity, drinking water supply and problems linked with the National Highway.
Other day-to-day public concerns were also raised. The MLA listened to the grievances patiently, while concerned officers took note of the issues.
Mankotia issued on-the-spot directions to departmental officials for early redressal of several problems.
He also announced an amount of Rs 10 lakh on the spot to meet urgent development requirements of the area.
Road connectivity and National Highway-related issues figured prominently during the interaction.
Problems of electricity and water supply were also discussed in detail. The MLA directed officials to resolve public issues on priority and cautioned them against any negligence in public service delivery.
Local residents appreciated the initiative, saying that it was the first time an MLA had organised a public darbar in the area with officers from all departments present, allowing people to directly convey their problems.
DDC Subash Chander, SDM, Tehsildar, Jagdev Singh Jagga, former sarpanches, panches and a large number of local residents were also present on the occasion.
