JAMMU, Apr 8: Panther Party’s State president Balwant Singh Mankotia demanded that Government should put a blanket ban on the sale of liquor in Jammu region.
Youth of the Jammu region need employment not liquor shops which are spoiling the future of our generation. He threatened that if Government failed to close the liquor shops in Jammu region, Panther Party will start a mass movement for closer of these shops.
While addressing series of rallies started under Haq-Insaaf Yatra for separate statehood for Jammu region, Balwant Singh Mankotia at Transport Nagar, Dansal, Jandrah, Tann Panchayat and Kodga of Jammu district on 8th day of yatra, he said that motive of the yatra is to make awareness among people of Jammu region to seek right and justice.
Mankotia welcomed Supreme Court’s decision to shift wine shops from National Highway to inner roads of different areas. He said inspite of shifting of these wine shops to inner localities, all wine shops should be closed and Government should put a blanket ban on sale of liquor.
Panther Party’s president made scathing attack on successive State Governments that in a well planned conspiracy thousands of liquor shops were opened in Jammu region.
Mankotia said that Panther Party will not allow to fulfill the nefarious designs to spoil the future of youth of Jammu region and will start awareness programme. He alleged that despite Supreme Court’s direction, some influential liquor owners who are hand in glove with law enforcement agencies opened their shops which is condemnable.
On this occasion Neeraj Gupta, Parduman Singh, Pushpinder Singh, Ghulam Qadir Deeng, Bikram Kumar, Mela Ram, Kuldeep Singh, Joginder Singh, Kewal Kumar and other were present.
