POONCH, Feb 7: Alleging failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in providing adequate water supply to them, the residents of village Chhajla in Mankot Panchayat of Mendhar Sub Division held a massive protest today.
The protestors raised slogans against the PHE Department and Tehsil administration. They alleged that due to callous approach of the concerned department, people of the area were suffering and their normal life was also getting affected.
Locals of the area Mohammd Hamid, Ishfaq Ahmed and others said it was very unfortunate that public was facing hardships because of no drinking water supply for the last many days, but no action has been taken by the PHE Department.
They appealed the Deputy Commissioner Poonch Dr Rahul Yadav to intervene into the urgent matter so that people are provided with adequate drinking water.
