SAMBA, Apr 15: Apni Party provincial president, Jammu and former Minister, Manjit Singh today expressed deep concern over unnecessary delay in announcing Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing party workers in Ramgarh, Manjit Singh referred to growing public issues for the last four years in absence of an elected Government. The workers meeting was organized by district president, Legal Cell, Samba, Sahil Bharti.
“An elected Government can restore confidence among the people who have no one in the authorities to listen to their issues. The bureaucracy hardly bothers to hear them and act accordingly. The ignoring of public concerns is not only in Jammu or Samba, but every district has raised similar issues,” he said.
He said that the Apni Party president, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has assured expressing commitment towards the public that if their Government comes to power in J&K, they will hold the officials accountable for their negligence towards the public.
“We will not let anyone who is responsible for present day crises. The people move pillar to post for minor issues like basic amenities, yet they are not being given heed,” he said and added that they will form a Government that will represent both the regions equally for development of every part of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that “If we form the next Government, our prime motive would be to empower the marginalized section of society and promote equitable development in J&K.”
He also referred to the mining mafia and its claims of social responsibility activities. “The local representatives are not taken into confidence by the mining mafia (non-locals) and they do unjustified digging in areas that are not given to them under the tendering process. It shows that the concerned authorities are also involved with the mafia and creating problems for the locals along the water bodies,” he added.
He demanded strict action against the violators of rules especially the mining mafia and demanded that PRIs of the respective villages should be taken on board before awarding tenders to any of the mining contractors.
