BHADERWAH, Aug 11: The second batch of ancient Mani Mahesh Yatra today left Bhaderwah along with holy mace for the onward journey to the holy shrine in Bharmod (Himachal Pradesh).
About 3000 devotees with holy mace left Bhaderwah via Bhaderwah-Padri-Chamba interstate route in 313 vehicles and they will join the first Charri at Bharmod in Chamba, which left on August 3 on foot. Thereafter they will reach revered lake of Mani-Mahesh on August 15 (Janamashtami) together to have a holy dip and to offer traditional prayers.
Adequate security arrangements and other facilities were made in advance by the administration for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Free langars have been installed by various devotees en-route the holy shrine.
Mani Mahesh Lake situated in Himalayas, is a high altitude lake and the Mani Mahesh Kailash peak that stands high close to the lake is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva.
During pilgrimage numerous night-shelters and eateries have emerged all along the trekking route and also at village Dhanshow, about 6 km from Hadsar, on way to Mani Mahesh.
