RAJOURI, Sept 9: The Mangota Road, which also connects Thannamandi with Darhal via Mangota, has remained closed for the past seven days, causing immense hardship to the residents of two Panchayats.
Locals have expressed serious concern over the prolonged closure, highlighting that daily commuters, students, and especially patients with medical emergencies are suffering due to the lack of road connectivity.
Sageer Hussain Shah, a resident of Mangota Panchayat, said, “The public is suffering badly as the road has not been restored even after a week. People with urgent medical needs are the worst affected.”
When contacted, Executive Engineer PMGSY, Sanjeev Jamwal, assured that the restoration work is underway and the road will be reopened for traffic by tomorrow.
The residents have urged the administration to expedite repair work and ensure that such prolonged disruptions in road connectivity are avoided in the future.
