JAMMU, Apr 18: Manglishwar Asthapan Prabandhak Committee, Sirnoo Monghama Pulwama today organised a spirited programme on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sri Manglishwar Bhairav Maharaj here.
From early morning hours, scores of devotees thronged Sri Gita Bhawan Mandir Complex in Muthi – the venue of the celebrations. A ritualistic Puja of Sri Bhairav Maharaj was performed under the guidance of noted religious scholar Amar Nath Raina. All the devotees attended the Maha Arti and sought blessings from their ‘local deity’.
Bhairav are being revered as the immediate ‘Lords’ within the Indic civilizational ethos – Baskar Nath Bhat , president SMAPC explained. He said how worship of village Gods known as ” Raza Sahib” was the most ancient form of Indian religion. This worship of village deity’ forms an important part of the conglomerate of religious beliefs, customs and ceremonies which are generally classified together under the term Hinduism.
He said that in almost every village, the ‘Raza Sahib’ is periodically worshipped and propitiated.
Mahant of Sri Govind Ji Goudia Math Jammu Radesh Dass Ji gave an eloquent discourse on the holy ‘Bhagwat Puran’. The devotees were enlightened by his presentation which revolved around the need to take pride in living a meaningful Sanatan way of life.
Socio-political activist and general secretary SMAPC, Sunil Bhat explained the necessity of harmonizing certain efforts of fellow community activists in trying to rebuild the destroyed temples and other religious properties back in Kashmir. In this regard, he informed the devotees about certain initiatives taken by SMAPC for the renovation of Sri Monglishwar Asthapan at Sirnoo Manghama in Pulwama Kashmir. He hoped that matters are adequately attended by the concerned agencies and works are undertaken earnestly. He also informed that a Hawan is being organised at the original Asthapan site in the first week of May 2025.
Pawan Bhat, a spiritual singer engaged the devotees with his soulful renditions.
Prasaada was distributed at the culmination of the function.
A brief programme was also celebrated at the Asthapan site in Pulwama also.
