SAMBA, June 21: A protest demonstration was held at Manga Rakwal in Kheli Mandi Panchayat of Samba tehsil today against the PHE Ground Water Department for its failure in restoration of hand pump in Kheli Mandi for last three years. The protest was led by Sarpanch, Lovelu Sambyal.
He said that Government has spent lakhs of rupees for laying hand pumps in Kandi belt to provide drinking water to people in the event of tube wells developing a snag.
He said since the hand pumps developed a snag no one from department bothered to restore them putting the people to problems. This forced them to come to streets, he added.
