JAMMU, Apr 28: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, hosted an interactive ‘Management Students Seminar’.
Primary theme of the event revolved around seeking career progression using ‘Emotional Intelligence and Spiritual Intelligence’. Dr  Marko Saravanja, Chancellor, Regenesys Business School, Johannesburg, South Africa and Dr  Richa Arora, Country Head, Regenesys Business School- India were the guest speakers on the occasion.
Dr Marko is the author of book “Secrets of Success” and was the finalist of Ernst Young World Entrepreneurship Awards in 2009. His programmes have inspired, changed lives and energised thousands of people from across the world.
Dr Marko Saravanja, while delivering a talk on ‘Emotional Intelligence and Spiritual Intelligence’, threw light upon his real life experiences and shared his journey from being a practising monk to a successful entrepreneur. He described the importance of dreams, perseverance, love and unconditional giving as the elements of magical formula for success. He shared explicitly that growth happens at physical, emotional, economic, spiritual and intellectual level.
Dr Marko also discussed how spiritual and emotional intelligence can help executives to access their inner power and become better leaders.  He talked about spiritual intelligence (SQ) as the need to identify and understand one’s purpose in life to achieve larger goals of serving and helping others.
Dr Richa Arora, Country Head, Regenesys Business School- India, deliberated upon several prospects and career opportunities in South Africa. She talked about the relevance of international experience for management students in the context of imbibing cross-national orientation. She acquainted the students with the kind of challenges and gaps that are seen in terms of academic inputs and the industry requirements. She also shared the programmes and trainings that can act as an add-on opportunity for students interested in gaining skills that support application of knowledge grasped through regular curriculum.
While speaking on the occasion, Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director, ICccR & HRM, said that the right kind of career opportunities can be made available for the students by providing them access to a wide network of potential employers and experts from industry and academia.  ICccR & HRM is continually endeavouring to create such platforms for making its students employable and industry ready, she added.
Students of MBA International Business Programme at ICccR & HRM and MBA students of Kathua Campus participated in the seminar, besides the faculty members.  Dr Pallvi Arora and Isha Sharma, Assistant Professors at ICccR & HRM, conducted the proceedings of the Seminar. Mukesh Sharma Head Operations and Dharminder Singh, International Academic Counsellor from Regenesys Business School were also present in the Seminar.
