JAMMU, Mar 16: A forty-seven-year-old man was stabbed to death by a group of unidentified assailants near the SKUAST-Jammu campus under the jurisdiction of Police Station Satwari here today.
Officials said the deceased has been identified as Balbir Singh, son of late Surjeet Singh and a resident of Bhour Camp.
He was reportedly returning home from a sweet shop when unknown assailants intercepted him on the way near the SKUAST-Jammu campus and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon.
The attackers allegedly stabbed him multiple times in the throat, causing his death on the spot.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and registered a case FIR number 66/2026 under section 103 of the BNS at Police Station Miran Sahib.
Meanwhile, further investigation has been started to trace and arrest the accused involved in the crime.
