RAJOURI, May 9: An elderly villager was murdered by his relatives in Majakote area of district Rajouri today.
The deceased has been identified as Said Mohd (65), son of Wali Mohammed, resident of village Kakora in Mankote. The incident took place at around 7.30 am today. Wazir Mohd is the neighbourer and also father-in-law of Said Mohd’s daughter. Wazir Mohd’s daughter is also, daughter -in-law of Said Mohd.
Police said the issue pertained to the daughters of both the families. Both had quarrel and went to the house of their parents. Over this issue, both the families had quarrel followed by bloody scuffle in the morning. During tiff, Said Mohd was allegedly attacked by Wazir and his sons on his dead by some lethal weapon. He was also gagged and he fell down on the ground.
Said Mohd was then rushed to local hospital at Manjakote where doctors declared him as dead. The police party led by SHO Manjakote Mehmood Khan reached the spot after coming to know about the matter. Addl SP Rajouri Shiv Kumar Chouhan also rushed there after some time. The police registered a case against the accused persons and started manhunt for them. All of them went underground. One of them was captured late in the evening.
The police registered murder case against Wazir Mohd, his sons-Sikander Hussain, Mohd Farooq, Mohd Afzal, daughter Zarina Begum and wife-Shah Begum. After postmortem the body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites.
