JAMMU, Jan 15: A 65-year-old individual died in a road accident at Janipur area here today.
Des Raj son of Munshi Ram of Janipur was hit by an auto near his home, resulting in injuries to the sexagenarian, a police official said.
He was taken to Government Medical College Jammu by his family members, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival, he said.
According to the police official, the body of the deceased individual has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination and other legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Janipur against the unidentified auto driver and further investigation taken up.
