SAMBA, Nov 7 : An elderly man suffered a bullet injury when an unidentified gunman shot at him, in Bari Brahmana area of Samba here late Friday evening.
The person was gone to withdraw money from the ATM.
Police sources said that at around 9 pm the firing incident took place near J&K Bank ATM along the main market in Bari Brahmana area.
“One person received a bullet injury in one of his legs,” said police.
The injured person, identified as Bishen Dass, S/o Beli Ram, R/o Bari Brahmna Samba, was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
They said that the accused, however, managed to flee from the spot, adding, “A case has been registered, but whether it was an attempt on the victim or the ATM or it was a personal rivalry, it is being investigated.”
Police are scanning CCTV cameras installed at intersections to find clues about the robbers and arrest them.
