JAMMU, May 22: A man was apprehended this afternoon near Ring Road, Kangar, by a patrolling party of Police Station Gharota after he attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence.
The suspect, identified as Nirmal Kumar, son of Pritam Chand, a resident of Kangar Morh, Bhalwal (Jammu), was stopped and subjected to a personal search, which led to the recovery of heroin-like substance weighing 2.36 grams and a mobile phone.
In this connection, a case under FIR Number 57/2025 was registered at Police Station Gharota under Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act.
The accused was formally arrested and further investigation into the case started.
