Man held in alleged multi-crores fraud

JAMMU, Mar 21: Police in Jammu’s Bakshi Nagar area have apprehended one person for his alleged involvement in a fraud worth several crores.
A police spokesperson said that one Ajay Gupta, who runs a private firm by the name Sangam Enterprises from Jalebi Morh area of Bakshi Nagar, has been arrested after several people claimed that the latter duped them of their hard-earned money worth crores.
The company of the accused would provide various services like gold loans, recurring facility and other saving facilities.
“After the firm shut its office all of a sudden, several people approached Police Station Bakshi Nagar,” the police spokesperson said, adding, “on the complaints of the victims, a police team led by senior police officers raided the house of the accused and arrested him,” added the police spokesperson.
The accused has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 33/2024 Under Sections 420, 201, 204, 506, and 465 of the IPC registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Sation and further investigation taken up.
