JAMMU, Aug 12: One individual has been arrested by the police in Janipur area for allegedly committing rape with a woman on the pretext of marriage.
Rahul Khandyal (31) of Rehari was booked in case FIR number 128/2025 under the relevant sections of the BNS for sexually harassing a widow woman, a police official said.
Quoting the complainant, he said, the accused developed some personal bonding with the victim several years after the death of her husband and later started committing the crime with her on the pretext of the marriage.
After he refused for the marriage, the victim lodged a complaint at Police Station Janipur, following which the police team arrested the accused and lodged him behind the bars, he said.
