Srinagar, Apr 25: Police today said a man has been arrested after he had uploaded a defamatory picture of a school on social networking site, Facebook, in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said the principal of KY International School Batingoo in Anantnag lodged a written compliant along with a photograph on April 23 month, stating therein that a person Ishtiyaq Ahmad Sofi has uploaded a photograph on his Facebook wall and has projected the photograph in such a manner which has not only defamed the name of school but has created an environment which may disturb the public order.
“Upon the complaint a case FIR number 100/2016 under section 505(b) RPC was registered and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation it surfaced that the said person had done this act for personal interests. The accused was arrested in the instant case and further investigation is going on,” the spokesman added.
