JAMMU, Aug 10: A 40-year-old individual apparently ended his life by hanging with a ceiling fan at his residence at Nagrota area here, officials said.
They said the incident happened on Saturday night around 11:45 PM when Anwar Khan son of Saif Ali of Shibba, Nagrota, was found hanging with a ceiling fan at his residence by his family members.
He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival, they said.
While the body of the deceased individual has been handed over to his family members after completion of the medico-legal formalities, police have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the reasons as to why he took such an extreme step to end his life.
