JAMMU, Aug 6: A 35-year-old man suffered severe injuries after his throat was slit by the banned nylon thread near Fortune Hotel here today.
The incident happened on Wednesday evening when the Chinese Manja entangled around the throat of a carpenter, identified as Ashwani alias Ashu (35) son of Prem Chand of Kandwal, Raipur Satwari, at Qasim Nagar near Fortune Hotel, a police official said.
According to him, the injured individual was taken to Government Medical College by some passerby, where he received over 30 stitches.
When this report was filed, the injured man was responding to the treatment.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the matter and started investigation into the matter.
