UDHAMPUR, Feb 10: A 35-year-old man died after reportedly falling into a nallah under mysterious circumstances at village Dhanuri, Ward No. 6, in Udhampur district.
According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Rinku Sharma, son of late Balkishan Sharma, a resident of Dhanuri.
He was on his way home when he allegedly lost his balance and fell into the nallah.
The incident came to light this morning when local villagers noticed the body and informed the police. Soon after receiving the information, Udhampur Police rushed to the spot and took the body into their custody.
The body was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for post-mortem examination.
After completing the necessary legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites.
Udhampur Police have registered a case in the matter and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of death.
