RAJOURI, Feb 21: A tragic incident occurred near Salani bridge in Rajouri on Saturday when a man lost his life after accidentally coming into contact with a live electric wire while cutting leaves from a tree.
According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Amjad Khan, son of Saleem Khan, a resident of Mendhar in District Poonch and presently residing at Ward No. 5, Panja, Rajouri. He reportedly came in contact with a live electric line during the process, resulting in severe electrocution.
Soon after the incident, locals rushed him to the nearby hospital for treatment; however, doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated necessary proceedings.
