Man driving car suffers cardiac arrest, hits scooty; dies

JAMMU, July 8: A man while driving a car suffered sudden cardiac arrest at Bikram Chowk flyover, which led to collision of his vehicle with a scooty and resultant death of car driver and injuries to scooty rider.
According to a police official, a man identified as Rajeev Bharti (64) son of Ram Lal, resident of Greater Kailash was driving his I10 car this morning when on reaching at Bikram Chowk flyover, he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest due to which he lost control over the vehicle and it hit a scooty.
“In the mishap, scooty rider, Suruchi (29) daughter of Vinod, resident of Nanak Nagar got injured while the car driver, Rajeev Bharti was shifted to GMC Jammu in unconscious condition and doctors there declared him as brought dead,” the official said.
He said after medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while Gandhi Nagar police had taken cognizance of the matter.
