JAMMU, July 7: An old man died today under mysterious circumstances in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a man identified as Parkash Singh (70) son of Shiv Ram, resident of village Tarochak, was injured in an assault case in the month of May this year and was discharged after few days after successful treatment in the hospital.
He said today the condition of the man suddenly deteriorated and the family members took him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead. He said body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem while inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC initiated by Pounichak Police.
