UDHAMPUR, Dec 23: A young man died under mysterious circumstances at Patnitop hill station after he fell from a hotel roof, last night.
“The deceased was identified as Rahul (31). son of Mulkh Raj, resident of Baryan in Udhampur. He was a cab operator and had purportedly gone to Patnitop in connection with his professional work.
According to Police, the preliminary investigation hint that the man died after falling from the roof and he had gone there for taking liquor in the hotel bar. Hotel staff shifted the injured person to Batote Hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Police is investigating the matter to ascertain whether the deceased fell from the hotel roof accidentally or was pushed by someone.
After post-mortem, body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceedings were initiated in this connection at Police Station Kud.
