Man brutally murdered, vital organs mutilated

RAJOURI, May 21: The brutal murder of a middle-aged man has shaken the residents of Keri village in the Khawas area of Rajouri district.

The mutilated body with some missing vital organs, of a 44-year-old man was found at some distance from his home at Keri village.
The police identified the deceased as Parshottam Lal, son of Amar Nath, a resident of Keri. The victim’s body bore signs of extreme violence, with his abdomen badly cut and lying open using a sharp-edged weapons. Police confirmed that the attacker(s) had not only pulled out his intestines but had also mutilated other organs, including his private parts.
Local residents informed the police authorities after discovering the body, following which a team from Budhal Police Station and Khawas Police Post rushed to the spot and took the body into custody.
SHO Budhal, Insp Parveen Kumar, stated that a case under relevant sections has been registered against unidentified persons and a thorough investigation is underway.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kalakote, Dr Iqbal Malik, confirmed that post-mortem and legal formalities were conducted at the hospital, after which the body was handed over to the family.
“The crime scene was disturbing and the nature of the injuries points to a brutal and premeditated act,” said SHO Parveen Kumar.
He added that although no arrests have been made so far, several individuals are being questioned, and police are confident of identifying and apprehending the culprit(s) soon. The gruesome nature of the crime has created a palpable sense of fear and unrest in the entire area. Authorities have assured the public that every effort is being made to solve the case at the earliest.
