JAMMU, Feb 16: One person was booked for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage in Miran Sahib area of Jammu district today.
Pranav Sharma of Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib, Jammu, was booked in case FIR number 22/2025 under section 69 of the BNS on the complaint of a woman, who claimed the former raped her in a private swimming pool of Jammu district on the pretext of the marriage.
Quoting the complainant, the police official said, the victim was engaged to the accused, and taking undue benefit of their bond, he took her to a private swimming pool, where he committed the offence.
According to the police official, the accused is absconding after committing the crime. He said efforts are underway to put him behind the bars.
