JAMMU, Feb 21: Manwal police arrested a man for raping a girl.
As per police sources, a man identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Ramesh Chander Sharma, a resident of Surinsar allegedly raped a girl, when she was alone at her home. The accused threatened the girl of dire consequences if she revealed the ordeal to anyone.
However, the girl mustered courage and narrated the whole incident to her family, who lodged a complaint with Police Post Manwal.
The girl has been handed over to family members after conducting the medical examination.
A case under FIR Number 12/18 under Section 452 and 376 RPC was registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and the accused has been arrested.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Manwal Police Post SI Suresh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh Chib, SDPO Yashbeer Singh and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.
