JAMMU, Feb 5: The IQAC of Govt. MAM College organized the final round of the Inter-Collegiate Symposium for the 2nd Annual Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Rolling Trophy of Jammu Division colleges to commemorate National Education Day.
Ten Participants selected during the preliminary round from different colleges of Jammu division, participated in the symposia.
Sarita Chouhan, Commissioner/ Secretary Higher Education J&K Govt. lauded the efforts of the college management in organizing such a meaningful academic programme and exorted that such programmes were imperative for the holistic development of the young learners. Dr. T. A. Kawoos Director colleges was also present on the occasion. Dr. Twinkle Suri, Convener, IQAC introduced the contest and welcomed the guests and participants who had come from varied parts of the Jammu Division to keenly participate in the event. Prof. Vijay Kotwal, former Principal, Prof. Kulwant Singh, Deptt of Law, University of Jammu, Khalid Hussain, Retd. Deputy Commissioner and noted writer, Prof. Anubhav Mathur, Indian Institute of Mass Communication were the Jury members for the Symposia, while Pradeep Dutta, Bureau Chief, Times Now Channel, J&K, was the Observer for the contest.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were bagged by Waheed Anjum Qureshi of Govt MAM College Jammu, Nazish Wani of GDC Doda, and Ritu Sharma and Parul Oberoi of GCW Gandhi nagar and GCW Udhampur. DigVijay Singh of GDC Samba won the consolation prize and Govt MAM College Jammu lifted the prestigious MAulana Abul Kalam Azad Rolling Trophy.
A colourful and melodious cultural programme was organised by the students of the Department of Music under the guidance of Prof. Kailash Mehra, HOD Music. The members of the IQAC Dr. R. K. Gupta, Dr. Mazammal Hussain, Dr. Shalini Sharma, Dr. Banpreet Kour, Dr. Harpreet Kour, Prof. Sujat Khan, Prof. Bindu Chib, Prof. Shivi Mehra, Prof. Sudesh Kumar and various faculty members graced the occasion. Prof. Nirlape Kour,- HOD, Political Science, presented the formal vote of thanks, while Faisal Arif Rishu and Dwanit Kapoor from B.A. Sem IV compered the proceedings of the symposia.
