JAMMU, July 29: Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik announced reduction of direct teaching load for college teachers to thirty periods per week instead of thirty-six periods.
He announced this while addressing a gathering of College principals and teachers at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College here.
Pertaining to over-due promotion of placement orders of college teachers, Malik said that he is personally looking into the matter.
He expressed concern over the delay in the issuance of over due placement orders of over 500 college teachers and added that the same will be sorted out shortly.
Earlier, Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, president, J&K College Teachers Association along with other comrades of the association met Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik and highlighted these issues.
Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta was accompanied by Dr Satesh Bhan, general secretary, Prof RS Jamwal, Dr BK Gandhotra, Dr Chanchal Khajuria, Dr Neeraj Gupta, Prof Seema Jamwal, Dr Joginder Singh and others.
