JAMMU, Apr 18: Apni Party general secretary Vikram Malhotra today raised serious concerns over the rapid spread of COVID-19 cases across J&K alongwith a considerable rise in its mortality rate.
He urged the UT Government to take all necessary measures in order to contain its spread and implement the life saving SOP’s strictly.
“The new COVID-19 wave is extremely dangerous. There have been considerable rises in the infected and death cases all around J&K. The Government must ensure that all SOP’s are followed in letter & spirit in order to avoid the situation getting further worse,” Malhotra said.
He was speaking on the sidelines of a joining ceremony in which various prominent SC political activists joined Apni Party at Jammu.
The new entrants who joined the party included, Naresh Kumar Panotra, Kalu Ram, Prem Chand, Om Parkash, Ashok Kumar, Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Gara Lal, Ramesh Kumar, Sansar Chand, Pawan Kumar and Ashwani Kumar.
Besides general secretary, Apni Trade Union President Ajaz Kazmi, Party leaders Vijay Magotra, Raj Kumar Sharma and Sanjay Kumar were also present on the occasion.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party-fold, Vikram Malhotra said that people in Jammu and Kashmir are facing immense problems in absence of a democratically elected government.
“The people have immense problems that need to be addressed on prompt basis in order to mitigate their sufferings. However, in absence a representative form of government, people have been forced to move from pillar to post for the redressal of their genuine grievances,” he asserted.
