JAMMU, May 21: A male body was recovered by police from a footpath near Vivekanand Chowk, here today.
The deceased was identified by locals as Kali, a 50-year-old resident of Chand Nagar Mohalla. According to those familiar with him, Kali was an electrician by profession and had been living alone after his wife reportedly left him several years ago. Locals also stated that he was a habitual drinker.
Police have shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Jammu, for postmortem. The concerned police authorities have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated further proceedings.
