JAMMU, Jan 1: Prof Wahid Makhdoomi, Registrar of the Islamic University of Science and Technology, is likely to be appointed as Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education.

Official sources told the Excelsior that the Cabinet in its last meeting had recommended the appointment of Makhdoomi as Chairman of BOSE and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha is learnt to have cleared the proposal.
A formal order regarding the appointment of Prof Makhdoomi is likely to be made within the next few days, sources added.
Pertinent to mention that the post of BOSE Chairman is lying vacant for the last 10 months and search committee for preparing the panel of names was constituted twice.
