JAMMU, Dec 19: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has demanded that recruitment exams for government job should be free from fee collection system.
In a press conference here today, Shiv Sena J&K chief, Manish Sahni said, “It is meaningless to talk about youth empowerment without removing financial barrier for unemployed youth.”
He said that recruitment exam fee is a big obstacle for the future of poor and unemployed youth.
“There is a onetime fee system in Rajasthan and Assam but in J&K, JKSSB charges application fee of Rs. 700/600 for each exam and similar is the procedure with JKPSC,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained adding, “In the recent recruitment of Police Constables in J&K, more than 5.4 lakh people had applied for only 4002 posts and a fee of about Rs. 39 crore was collected. This registration fee is not refunded if the exam is cancelled due to paper leak, rigging or any other reason.”
He said that Lieutenant Governor of J&K has been in favour of youth empowerment.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena has extended support to the demand for announcing vacancies in languages like Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi in Jammu University and five years age relaxation to the aspirants of Police SI posts.
Vikas Bakshi, Shiv Sena general secretary; Meenakshi Chhibber, president Women Wing; Sanjeev Kohli, senior vice president and Raj Singh, president Kamghar Wing were also present in the press conference.
