Majalta to have Degree College soon: Naeem

SRINAGAR, July 2: Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar today said that a Degree College at Majalta would be established soon, thus fulfilling the long pending demand of the people of the area.
The Minister was interacting with MLA Ramnagar R S Pathania who called on him to project the demand for the college.
MLA Hiranagar Kuldip Raj was also present on the occasion.
The Minister assured the visiting MLAs that the feasibility report of the College has already been prepared with inputs from Finance, Planning and General Departments. He said that the report would be soon put before State Cabinet for approval.
The Minister said that the Government is committed for providing quality education in every nook and corner of the State. He said that the forthcoming college will be a unique college with facilities that would be in tune with modern day needs of the students of the area.
Mr Pathania said that the forthcoming college will feed 10 Higher Secondary Schools and four adjoining Tehsils. He said that under UGC guidelines too, Majalta was deserving a college. He said that the college will be a great boon to students over a stretch of 100 kms right from Udhampur to Billawar.
