JAMMU, Nov 4: Major General Naveen Kumar Airy has taken over as Additional Director General, NCC Directorate, J&K.
He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the Grenadier Regiment on December 17, 1983 and since then he has held numerous Command and Staff appointments.
Major Gen Airy has an illustrious career profile with command of an Infantry Battalion in J&K and Sikkim, besides a Brigade and a Mountain Division in J&K. He has also held prestigious appointments of Colonel General Staff of an Infantry Division and Brigadier General Staff of an Operational Corps in J&K.
The General has vast experience of service in varied environments. He was ADGIS (B) in HQ DGIS, New Delhi before taking over the present appointment. In a brief ceremony held at NCc Directorate in Jammu, Major Gen Airy took over the rein of the State NCC Directorate from Major General Nilendra Kumar, who superannuated on October 31.
