Srinagar, Mar 24: The Mahila Congress workers today held a protest here demanding implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Jammu and Kashmir.
Scores of women workers gathered at the party headquarters, raising slogans in favor of women’s rights and urging the government to ensure political representation for women in the Union Territory.

A protester said that women in Jammu and Kashmir have been sidelined for too long, and they demand the immediate implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill so that women get their rightful place in decision-making bodies.
Another protester also said that the bill’s implementation would be a step toward empowering women politically and ensuring their active participation in governance.
The protesters urged the authorities to take concrete steps for the reservation of women in legislative bodies, stating that their representation remains crucial for a progressive and inclusive society.
