JAMMU, July 26: Activists of Mahila Congress staged protest demonstration against the BJP-PDP Government over the issue of AIIMS here today.
A large number of Mahila Congress workers led by State Mahila Congress president Indu Pawar ( Ex-MLA) and district president Prabha Slathia assembled near Press Club in the morning and started protest demonstration. They were demanding restoration of AIIMS to Jammu as sanctioned by the Centre.
The protesting Congress workers also burnt the effigy of Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh. They shouted loud slogans against Modi Govt and BJP-PDP alliance in the State. Indu Pawar and several other leaders also addressed the gathering. They criticized the BJP leaders from Jammu for befooling the  people over the issue of AIIMS. They alleged that BJP Ministers have surrendered to the Kashmir based leaders from PDP.
Later, they moved to the Dogra Chowk and disrupted movement of traffic for some time. However, the police got the area cleared and restored the movement of traffic.
