JAMMU, July 21: Mahant Rohit Shastri, president of Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Jammu & Kashmir, paid a courtesy call on Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat today at Raj Bhavan, Jammu.
On the occasion, Mahant Rohit Shastri presented various scriptures and books published by the Trust to the Governor and shared detailed information about the initiatives being undertaken by the institution for the promotion and preservation of Devvani Sanskrit in the region.
Shastri apprised the Governor that Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust is continuously working for the upliftment of Sanskrit, Vedic studies, research and the revival of ancient Indian knowledge traditions by organizing various programs, seminars, free education camps, mobile Sanskrit gurukuls, de-addiction campaigns, medical services, environmental conservation activities, awareness drives against social evils and publishing works.
He further mentioned that to accelerate the spread of Sanskrit in the region, the Trust is not only conducting free Sanskrit classes but also organizing workshops and literary activities to connect the younger generation with this heritage.
Governor Acharya Devvrat extended his best wishes to Mahant Rohit Shastri, blessing him to continue working actively for social welfare and the promotion of Sanskrit in the future as well.
Shastri also briefed the Governor about upcoming plans, which include a Sanskrit literacy campaign in rural areas, expansion of Vedic schools and new publications of Vedic literature.
