Mahant Dutt Giri demands proper management of Jammu temples

JAMMU, Mar 26: President of Shat Darshan Sadhu Samaj, Mahant Dutt Giri today sought proper regulation of all temples in Jammu for their adequate maintenance and management.
Talking to media persons along with Rajesh Bittu, here today, Mahant Dutt Giri said that there are several temples that are not properly managed. “These are controlled by some Mahants or Pandits who are not even domicile of J&K and also not having any identity that can prove that they are locals,” he said, adding that proper verification of such persons should be done.
“I request Div Com Jammu to please look into the matter and make the every possible arrangement in this regard. Also Div Com should inform the DCs of other districts to make this happen so that Jammu can be truly described as City of temples,” he said
Also demanding that Government should provide a piece of land to every Sadhu, he appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to look into this issue.
Mahant Rajesh Bittu said that they have already talked to Div Com Jammu and also presented him a memorandum regarding their demands . “It’s right time to change the rules that are continuing from many years. We are looking forward to the Govt decisions,” he said.
