JAMMU, Dec 21: The Maha Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak Ji popularly known as Kak Ji was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at Swami Ji’s Nagrota Asthapan today.
Braving the chilly weather and fog a large number of devotees from different areas of Jammu thronged the Ashram from early in the morning to pay obeisance to the Swami Mirzakak a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir. On the occasion a Maha Yagya for betterment of mankind was also solemnized which started yesterday evening with Kalash Puja and culminated this afternoon with Puran Ahuti.
The devotees were served with Prashad after Puranahuti. The Bhajan Kirtan and recitation of Vaaks of Swami Ji by devotees continued for entire day. Special Puja was also performed at the Asthapan on the occasion to invoke the blessings of Swami Ji.
Giving details of the renovation and development of original shrine at Hangalgund in Anantnag district of South Kashmir where the Smadhi of Swami Ji exists, president of Swami Mirzakak Trust Bushan Lal Hangloo said that renovation and reconstruction work at Swami Ji’s Shrine at Hangalgund has already been undertaken by the Trust.
He said Dharmshalla has been completely renovated while the work on Hingla Devi temple and Smadhi of Parkak Ji is going on. He demanded removal of shop near the Smadhi of Parkak and urged the local administration to take immediate steps in this regard to maintain the sanctity of the religious place.
Avtar Krishan Raina, general secretary of the Trust, Veer Ji Pandita orgnising secretary and Rakesh Hangloo senior functionary said one room hut has been constructed near Smadhi of Swami Mirzakak at Hangalgund besides, a bund has been laid along the stream. They said more facilities for visiting devotees will be also created at the shrine in near future.
Meanwhile, despite the down pour during the day devotees from different parts of Kashmir also visited the Smadhi of Swami Ji at Hangalgund today and performed Puja –Archana. They were led by Sunny Hangloo.
